Board Adventure Cat at Pier 39 for a 1-hour-35-minute sunset sail past Alcatraz and beneath the Golden Gate Bridge. Choose a sheltered seat or the open trampoline, enjoy one beer, wine, or soft drink, and bring a jacket for the chilly bay air.

“It was freezing and so windy I thought I would go overboard. The opportunities for photos were not many so it felt like a bit of a waste of $$$. I would check the weather before hand the fog rolled in and the bridge was barely visible. They did have jackets but like if you can’t even walk up outside onto the deck cause it’s so windy what’s the point. Also too many people.”

San Francisco: Golden Gate Bridge Catamaran Cruise

4.Golden Gate Bridge Catamaran Cruise

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 499 reviews · 1h 30m · from $65Best value

Spend 90 minutes aboard Adventure Cat Sailing Charters from Pier 39. You will pass Alcatraz, sail beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, watch for sea lions, and enjoy San Francisco skyline views. The crew may let you take the helm, and jackets, snacks, soda, beer, and wine are available onboard.

“This was truly the best way to start off our trip in San Francisco! The crew is fun, super energetic. We sailed with Devin & Chad beginning of August. We were lucky to get to see the bridge with a bit of sunshine as it had been so foggy the days before - this is definitely a weather dependent activity. But even on foggy days, the bridge can still look really cool/mystical. If it is a colder day, they have jackets on board :) you can also buy drinks inside! They let us take pictures behind the steering wheel, which are definitely our favourites of our holiday. Highly recommend!”
